Another great BC climbing day. There are enough cliffs, canyons, bluffs around to fill a life time of rock climbing.

Okanagen Lake

Woohoo we made it to the lake to meet Lyndsys family.

Water fun

Fred brought his boat to the lake. Meaning lots of good time on the water, exploring, playing around and enjoying the great weather and landscape here.

Back on the highway

Da der KVR nach Penticton wieder deutlich schlechter wurde haben wie uns entschieden auf dem highway zu fahren. Wie sich später herausstellt ist der „ Highway„  die deutlich bessere alternative, da er nur auf der halben strecke geteert. Warum? Naja wir haben keine 10 Autos am Tag gesehen. Die Anzahl der Kühe war größer ;)

After many km on the KVR we find the trail perfectly paved close to Princeton.

Auf dem Auto lag kreide und man konnte wie auf einer tafel schreiben. War wahrscheinlich dass Auto eines Lehrers.

KVR Kettle Valley Railway Trail

The first "view meters" of the KVR after hope didn't really meet our expectations. Although it was great to see the tunnels and the canyon, we had a really hard time finding the rest of the trail. So we decided to take highway 5. After 10 km we were certain that the KVR has to be the small unpaved road down in the valley, which we could constantly see while climbing up the highway. So we turned around and took that road. It was hard work on that road since it was chewed up by ATVs. That was not the bike road we expected. After another 8km we met a few campers which told us that the road just ends in the bush later. So we turned around and went back up the highway. We thought it should be ok because we met the better part of the trail later. But...

Hope

Der letzte Tag im Flachland endet in Hope. Wir freuen uns schon auf einsame Tage auf guten Fahrradwegen durch die Rockies. Wir decken uns hier noch mit Essen für Mind. 3 Tage ein, da es bis Princton keine Möglichkeit zum einkaufen gibt.

Da der Camping Platz bei Hope 25 Dollar für einen Platz ohne Wasser, Strom und zwischen 5 Wohnmobilen verlangt, campen wir 200m weiter am Fluss.

Last Ferry

July 30

Our last ferry ride on the Canada pay of the trip takes us back to Vancouver (or close).

Here we met up with a friend of LIndsy, Michelle, for lunch. First time We had frog legs - very yummy but not as special as I thought. (sorry froggy I know you don't like to hear that)

Since we didn't like to bike through Vancouver we took trains and buses most of the way. Also this is a lot of trouble some times with all the bags. 

We arrived at the golden ears Provincial Park in the Dark. We Were Lucky To Get A Spot. Other people Lined Up The Next Day At 3.30 inTheMorning To Get a SpotT For Camping Over The Long Weekend.

Porpoise Bay

Weiter geht's nach porpoise bay, ein inlet in der Nähe von Sechelt. Hierzu fanden wie den ersten Camping Platz der Plätze speziell für Radfahrer reserviert hat. Dort trafen wie eine Familie aus Washington die gerade ihre Fahrradtour plante.
