The islands last around 30 years before the sink, because the base of the islands, the reed roots loose the gas which makes then float, and the people have to build a new one.

Nach vielen Kilometern auf dem Alti Plano erreichen wir den „the highest navigable Lake of the world“ auf 3810m. Der blick über die Stadt uns den See ist gigantisch (sehr beeindruckend nach vielen Tagen Steppe).

Zeit zum Pläne schmieden. Wie kommen wir auf die andere Seite des Sees? Wir wollen mit dem Boot nach Conima und von dort am Ostufer weiter Richtung La Paz. Was allerdings nicht so einfach ist wie gedacht. Viel zu teuer, mindestens 8 Stunden fahrt, keiner macht dass... Die Aussagen der Kapitäne und Reise Agenturen.

Dann fanden wir doch einen Weg. Es gibt ein Hotel auf einer Insel nahe Conima und ein Boot, welches jeden Tag dort hin fährt.

Und weiter geht's Richtung Süden. In sicuani hat uns José und Francesco in ihr Restaurant eingeladen und uns einen Zeltplatz angeboten. Er hat uns auch eines der seltenen vicunas seiner Nachbarn gezeigt.
