Sept 25
Once we arrived at the site (we took a bus up to save us 1h of step uphill climb) we decided to share a guide with a Japanese girl. Since she only spoke Spanish we got a full 2h Spanish class with the tour, since our was in English and Spanish. We learned a lot about the site, the culture and the history of this amazing place. Machu Picchu was a research centre, where people learned to grow corn at different climates.
The day ended perfectly - a bright rainbow appeared as we got ready to head back down. We decided to stay at a botanical garden (Jardin de mandor) along the train tracks. A very green and peacefull place, with excellent food and coffee (my first coffee under a coffee tree).
We woke up work pretty sore muscles the next day. The 2h hike back to hydro elecrica didn't make it better though.
